Purpose Statement
GAIFA is a corporation for nonprofit and is organized for the following purpose: To increase the knowledge of association members and the general public of the principles, functions and financial programs, to promote, protect and advance the best interest of the people engaged in the sale and service of insurance and financial products. To render civic and community service and do all things necessary and prudent for the advancement of the insurance and financial services industry.

Association Objectives
The objective of this Association shall be:

To support and maintain the principles and advance the best interest of legal reserve life insurance, other insurance and related financial services.

To advance public knowledge of the concept and use of legal reserve life insurance, other insurance and financial services.

To uphold the American Life Agency System of life insurance distribution and to strive constantly for its improvement.

To protect and promote ethical conduct in the business of life, other insurance and related financial services.

To increase the knowledge of members of this Association concerning the principles, functions and applications of legal reserve life insurance, other insurance and related financial services.

To uphold the laws of the State and of the United States affecting life insurance, other insurance and financial services.

To promote legislation, regulation and practices, which are in the best interest of life and other insurance, related financial services, the insuring public and the agency system.

To provide, through this Association, for rendering civic and community service and fostering the development of enduring friendships.

To encourage and coordinate such activities of members as are consistent with these objectives in the interest of life and other insurance and related financial services, the agency system, and the insuring public.

To encourage adequate protection against the hazards of disability as part of a well-rounded life and health insurance program.
Code of Ethics
Preamble: Those engaged in offering insurance and other financial services occupy the unique position of liaison between the purchaser and the suppliers of insurance and closely related financial products. Inherent in this role is the combination of professional duty to the client and to the company as well. Ethical balance is required to avoid any conflict between these two obligations.
